Outside lifestyles

Outdoor cats have always been a common choice for cat owners who want their furry friends to have freedom and the joy of outdoors. However….. with freedom comes risk and danger that can impact the lifespan of a cat allowed outdoors.

The outdoor cats very life can depend on a variety of factors. It boils down to the fact that outdoor cats tend to have a shorter lifespan than indoor cats. Much of this is due to increased risks of injury, illness, and predation. “According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), the average lifespan of an outdoor cat is around 2-5 years, compared to 12-15 years for indoor cats”!!! This is huge!

And it is the main reason we here at Cattitude respectfully ask our new families to keep their new kittens inside or in closed cattios.
